-Kewohan, Loa Elda a Tuska Chraib

Tooska Tribe places great value on family and tradition. More then just a group of warrior gathered for a common taks, we are a tribe with a shared past, shared traditions. The core of a tribe with a past is family.

OOC:

There are a number of lineages in the tribe: the Line of Guljiin, the Line of Jazashi, etc. These are lineages traced to a famous ancestor. Trolls of the Line of Guljiin, for example, trace their ancestory back to Guljiin, a pre-Exile Tooska hero.

A Tooska at some point becomes part of either their mother's or their father's lineage. The decision is influenced by factors such as the relative prestige of the two lineages, the relationship between their parents, and just which side of the family the get along with better.

Family relationships outside the lineage are also recognized, but they are less socially significant

A small set of the oldest, most prestigious families are sometimes referred to as "The High Families". Almost all chieftains, and most elders are from the High Families. The High Families which are represented by current Tooska are Guljiin, Jazashi, and Kutali. OTher High Families are presumed lost after the raids

Choosing a Lineage:

Tooska Tribe was decimated and scattered int he past generation. We start to gather the tribe back together, but we are few still. Sometiems trolls come to us, not sure where they come from. Those that wish to take our traditions for their own, we happily take them in. Those of No Line are welcome in the tribe, though it will perhaps be more difficult for them to gain positions of respect in the tribe. But these are troubled times, maybe times for new heroes to give rise to new lineages.

Other times whelps, or even full grown trolls, come to us, knowing ther were born Tooska, but remembering little else from before the Raids. Sometimes the elders remember them, or can discern their lineage based on their half-memories.

OOC:

Before their character can be promoted to full Tusker, a player must work out the background of their chracter. Their character can be either and adoptee, or a born Tooska. Do not feel that you must choose to be an adoptee if you don't think you've mastered the Tak, or other parts of Tooska-ness, or if you join with a few levels under your belt already. Many Tooska have been raised by outsiders and filter in as they hear the word go out that Tooska Tribe is reforming. In general, we prefer born Tooskas to adoptees, but the decision is yours, and should be an RP decision: who is your character?

If you decided to be a born Tooska, the next decision is what lineage should you belong to. This should be discussed with the Elders, especially Loa Elder Kewohan, either in game or on the forums. Players can make decisions for themselves, with approval from the Elders, or they can request they be placed by the Elders' discretion.

Players may invent new Lineages for their characters. Only a few Lineages have been recovered since the tribe was decimated, it is entirely possible for your character to be the first of a lineage to come back to us. There may even be room for one or two more High Families, though it is only appropriate for a player to play the head of a High Family if they have a significant amount of time and energy to commit to the tribe. For most players creating a new line, it is appropriate to be a normal, or "Middle" family.

Both the creation of new lines, and additions to existing lines are encouraged. TO join an existing line, you should talk to the head of the Line (the first character listed on the Lineage's profile page) and the Elders. If you have a close tie to the player of other character in the tribe (a real life friend, the person who brought you into the guild, someone who helped orient you, or just someone you like grouping with or talking to) you might want to join their lineage (but you shouldn't feel obligated to). It is expected that characters should freely offer aid to all tribe members, but offer it first to members of their own Line.
