Ranks and Expectations

The TooSka Tribe encourages senior ranks to assist newer members of our tribe in the spirit of the Hawaiian word Kokua: "to mutually help one another".

For all ranks, watch how your elders behave and try to learn from the good (not from the bad). Never be afraid to talk to someone of higher rank.

Bosal

After years of living with the Darkspear or entirely removed from Trollish culture, we have begun gathering the Tooska together again. Those who show promise, whether adoptees or of TooSka blood are given the rank of Bosal. Each Bosal comes to us with a different amount of knowledge of our culture. Often this is a Troll's first experience with Tuska Tak. Your time as a Bosal is an opportunity to learn who you are and how to be a Tooska.

As a Bosal your behaviour in general and on our guild channel will have a lot to do with what your fellow Tooska think of you.

Stay in dialect and in character when using the guild channel. You should ask questions about anything you don't understand, but keep them off of the guild channel unless you can phrase them in dialect and in character. Those talking should be willing to explain themselves, but a tell is often the best way to inquire.

Anything in a say, yell or any of the common channels (assuming you have chosen not to leave them) should be in dialect and in character. No exceptions. If they just don't get it, communicate with a more private method.

Always try to respond to a Tribe member, even if you have to check what they said, or check what you should respond with.

Tusker

A full member of the tribe. Before you are promoted to Tusker you should have a character profile worked out, including what Line you are a descendant of. Expect to be asked to participate in a ceremony by telling telling us about yourself and responding to questions from the tribe without breaking dialect or character. You should also feel comfortable conversing in the Guild channel.

You should also be following our forum, and hopefully participation. Staying in dialect or in character is neither encouraged nor discouraged on the forum.

Also, you should be willing and able to interact with other (non Tooska) role players you may encounter. These can be some of the most enjoyable gaming experiences.

Taska (Veteran)

In the tribal hierarchy this is equivalent to Tusker. This denotes members of the tribe who seem to be most helpful to the tribe. They should be able to help with many problems and questions, and if not they will be able to direct your next step. The Taska have the ability to invite new Bosals, but may have to consult a Tribal Elder before doing so.

Tribal Elder

One of the council of leaders of our tribe. Mean and nasty folks who never miss an opportunity to extort the weaker members of our tribe, picking on the young and the old. Rumour has it they are the reason Chief Teshim is so seldom seen as even he is frightened by these powerful brutes. Why it has even been said that we have...

In reality, if you have any difficulties a Tribal Elder should be the first person you talk to, never the last. They have many responsibilities to our tribe, and should be watching out for opportunities to help their fellow tribe members more than opportunities to help themselves. Each of the Tribal Elders should get to know all members of our tribe. They should provide feedback to the tribe members, especially to Bosals as they progress towards Tusker. Most of all they should ensure that each and every tribe member is comfortable and having fun. If you have no problems, let them know that too. We are always open for suggestions and feedback, role play or just chatting, and we would love to hear from you.
